This Tuesday some Polwarth/silk from Three Waters Farm on Etsy.  Really nice matte appearance to this one.

Yay! Got my stash!

Finally went to the storage container in the middle of nowhere and clambered around to find my Etsy Store stock, fibre stash and spinning wheel.  So happy, can do some spinning now!

And although I won't be adding much to the store for the next month or so, at least there are some of the old goodies to check out.

Weezer

Went back to Sydney for the weekend to see Weezer.  Yes, we could have seen them in Melbourne but we bought tickets early, before we knew we were moving and they cost a bit, so we thought it would be easier (not cheaper) to keep the tickets.

They were awesome!  Love Weezer.

Was thinking about the validity of the knitting reference of "Undone (The Sweater Song)".

The chorus goes:

If you want to destroy my sweater.
Hold this thread as I walk away.
Watch me unravel, I'll soon be naked.
Lying on the floor, Lying on the floor! I've come undone

Did a search and came up with this discussion.  Funny....

Thursday Top

Moved into a new share house while waiting for the new apartment to settle, so guess what?  I forgot all about Tuesday Top.  It's ok, Thursday Top doesn't have as nice a ring but the roving is still pretty!

This is "Alien Nation" on Massam from lanitium ex machina.

Some finished things...

So, Melbourne's weather is not so unpredictable.  It seems that Fridays are always hot.  Once again on my day off it was too hot for an excursion so I finished off (and took photos) of a couple of knitting projects.

First, I finished the Align Mitts.  They came out quite nice.  Because of the ribbing the fit is really comfortable.

Second are Asymmetrical Cables by Cookie A  These are pretty cool. I'm really slow at cables but these are big and easy so they moved along quickly.  I always have to add length at the toes of my socks.  I should have added another repeat of the pattern I added so much length.  Oh, well, that end is in my shoes anyway.

And one last thing, an honourable mention to "Mr Penumbra's 24-hour Bookstore" by Robin Sloan which I read today.  Not only was it a good read but it also had a knitting reference, in the form of a knitting museum. Cool.

Tuesday Top

Today something from one of the first places I bought fibre from.  Sqoosh Fibre Arts.

I love the chestnut/blue combo of this one. Superwash Corriedale?  I don't think I've seen that before.

42 degrees

Today it was really hot so I stayed home in the airconditioning and made a fingerless glove.  It is called "Align Mitt" and is from the Pink Brutus Knits blog.  I'm making it in the not very exciting colour of black but the yarn is a very nice Merino/silk mix and well, I like black anyway.

Tuesday Top

Todays Top from dancing leaf farm.
It's called "Seaside" and is seen here on 16oz of "Australian Wool" - I would guess Merino but who knows. I love the dyeing on this, great subtle shifts of colour and the depth of shade is awesome.
