Beer and Bomb: 2

Who would of thought there would be a second post on this theme?

Today, for the first time in many weeks it isn't 40 degrees on my day off so I went for a walk down High St in Northcote.  My destination was Harvest Wine and Liquor for some quality craft beer.  They had a pretty good range, and reasonably priced too.  I got some Southern Bay Brewing Co Ocean Ale.

And then, when I get to the Northcote Town Hall, it's totally sporting some stylish sleeves!

Tuesday Top

I'm really enjoying spinning the yellow and grey Corriedale top that I posted about previously.  I have lots of my own hand dyed to play with but I can't help browsing Etsy for other peoples stuff!

This one from FashionTouchSupplies is really cool.  Love the colour range.

What's on the Wheel

This week I started spinning up some Corriedale in my "Three Coins in the Fountain" colourway.  I split the grey and yellow sections to recombine in a different sequence to how I painted it.  I'm going to 2 ply it when done for some barberpole action.  I love the bounce of a 2 ply Corriedale too.

Tuesday Top

Check out this cute little "mistake".  While looking for some Cheviot fibre on Etsy I came upon this listing.  It's only 1oz and is a self confessed "little accident" but aren't the colours amazing?  Love it!

Tuesday Top

I love Teeswater fibre and am always on the lookout for dyed and undyed.  This one is from Bohoknitterchic. The colourway is called "Bluebell".  It's so shiny!

Midnight Dreary

I'm knitting along with the Fingerless Glove Fanatics group on Ravelry.  This month the theme is "Literary".  It's a pretty open theme and people are knitting all sorts of mitts with either yarns or patterns inspired by books or poems.

I'm making "Midnight Dreary" by Kimberly Pieper, inspired by Poe's "The Raven".  It's a pretty simple rib pattern mitt with a basic cable running along the back.  Fun and easy.  I've finished one and started the next, looking good so far!

Tuesday Top

Not actually top today but some blending fibre.

This is totally cool, glow in the dark spinning fibre.  I've seen some glow in the dark yarns for sale but this is the first time I've seen fibre.  Not that I've been looking though, I'm sure it's been around for ages.  This lot is from zauberzeug on Etsy.

I haven't been able to find many projects with it but someone used it to make an owl soft toy which seems more than appropriate.

What's on the Wheel

Had a big weekend of eating, drinking, juggling and spinning.

On Sunday I went to the "Sunday Spinners" meetup at the Victorian Spinners Guild.  Met several lovely people and had a good spin.  I spun up 30g of an Alpaca/Merino/Silk blend and started on the blue/brown mixed batt.  I think I will ply them together as there is not a lot of each.  Depending on how long the batt spins up I will either 2 ply or 3 ply, must use up all the batt - it has sparkles!
