Tuesday Top

Back to the camelid this week!

This is a blend of Shetland, Llama and soy.  Sounds like an interesting blend - and I like the colours!

This is custom blended and hand dyed by WharfedaleWoolworks.

Not so secret...

I seem to have not finished any projects for quite some time but actually there have been several surprise gifts finished, but I can't post them here, because that would spoil the surprise, right?

But, I have finished this which you can look at as they aren't for anyone, except maybe me.

Kujeillen Mitts.  I learnt how to do nupps (those little lumpy bits) for this pattern which was fun.  Love a new technique!

Tuesday Top

I had a very crafty - well, very craft shopping weekend as my mother in law was visiting from Perth.  She knits and sews so when she visits us she likes to stock up on supplies and, well, I don't mind shopping for supplies either.

We went to many places including the Mornington Craft Market (and Mornington Brewery).  Rathdowne Fabrics (and The Ale House).

I was very controlled - saving up for Bendigo - but I did buy this Angora/Cashmere/BFL/Tencel braid from ixChel Angora Rabbits who was at the Handknitters’ Guild Yarn and Craft Market.  How much do I want my own Angora bunny?  Quite a bit....

Tuesday Top

This Tuesday we have some Superfine Merino hand dyed by ShornFibres.  There is just something about grey combined with a bright colour.  One of my favourite striping combinations!

What's on the Wheel

I've been a bit busy with other things so I haven't been completing many projects this week.

I am planning on getting this finished up this afternoon.  This is Polwarth that I dyed in some bright blue shades.  I've just got half a bobbin left to make a 3ply.  I was going for my usual heavy fingering  weight but Polwarth does tend to puff up during finishing so it might end up a bit bigger.  I wouldn't be upset by that, Polwarth is better when soft and squishy.  I have another 100g of this fibre so if this comes out well I will make another skein the same.
