Tuesday top

Very soon it is time for our trip to Wales and Ireland.  I'm quite looking forward to it!  I'm really hoping I can find some Welsh or Irish fibre to buy as a souvenir of my trip.

Maybe something like this:

Project Bags

Have I mentioned my Mother in Law before?  Well,  anyway, she's pretty awesome.  We share a love of all things crafty and we've decided a bit of collaboration is in order.

She sews and sells her stuff at various markets, including Mundaring and Midland in Perth.  I hand dye and hand spin and sell my stuff on Etsy.  Now if you go to one of the markets in Perth you'll also be able to pick up some of my hand spun yarn or hand dyed fibre that she is going to sell for me.  And if you visit my Etsy shop you'll be able to buy some of the awesome knitting totes and project bags that she has made.

Here's a little preview:

Look at this pretty roving!  Love the colours but be aware it's a one of a kind so this is all you get.

I Really Should Finish Something...

I have been making progress on several projects this weekend but I just haven't managed to get anything finished.

My spinning is moving along. I'm  plying my Squoosh Fiberarts "Cowboy Dreams" today, which is taking ages.  I'm feeling confident that I'm going to get yarn I actually want to use to make socks!

I've also been really pushing to finish my spindle spin.  As I am going to be travelling for the entire TDF this year I am going to be spinning exclusively on my spindle.  I'd really like to take a new spin with me so I have to finish at least the singles of this one before I go.  I have about an ounce to go so I don't know if I'm going to make it or not!

In regards to knitting, I have almost finished my Ravello sweater.  In fact I could actually call it finished if I was happy with the unfinished neckline specified in the pattern.  However, I know I won't wear it like that so I'm going to go with an alternative ribbed neckline.  Unfortunately that means I'm going to have to pick up 120 or so stitches and, well, I just can't be bothered at the moment...So I cast on this cable hat instead.

Tuesday Top

This Tuesday some great purples and blues from Wee Chickadee Woolery.

The fibre is kettle dyed and it has the lovely name of "Last Light of Day".  Love the depth of colour!

I'm a bit excited this week that a friend of mine has started an Organic store in Perth and she's going to be selling my fibre!  No, it's not actually organic but she has other handmade products and wanted to sell some felting fibre and that's where I come in!  This is heading over this week:

The store is called "Flourish Organics", it has a Facebook page or you can visit in person at the Mundaring Wellness Centre.

Also, I've just added a whole heap of handspun to my Etsy shop.  You may have seen a couple of them in progress earlier in the blog!
