Too Many Books

These days I usually read books on my Kindle.  I love my Kindle.  Books are cheaper (or free) and you don't have to do that annoying thing of carrying a second book around with you in case you finish the current one.

However, I am a sucker for secondhand bookshops.  I like the randomness, I like just picking out books because of an interesting title and judging them by their covers.  I like the dedications to people in the front covers and finding a bus ticket used as a bookmark halfway through.

So, my physical books to read stack is getting a little out of hand. Time to read some of these.

This Week's WIPs

My stranded socks are done!

Next up on the needles is a "Diving In" Shawl with Drops Alpaca.  Yep, red and brown again.  I like red and brown! It's not going to be the most exciting knit as it's all garter stitch but it it's got stripes so at least I might wear it!

The "Blue Tango"  handspun is drying after it's wash so no finished pictures yet, but I am just about to start this Corriedale.  I kettle dyed it which is not my usual method and I am not at all sure how it is going to spin up.  I have a feeling the colours are going to go muddy...we'll see.  Pretty fibre though!

The Week's WIPs

This week I've been working on my first Spin the Bin fibre. It's all plied up and ready for washing,  it should come out about a DK weight.  Filled up my bobbin to about bursting point!

Also, my stranded socks are so close to being finished...
I'm going to have to think of what to knit next, that's the fun bit, right?

This Week's WIPs

What's happening this week?

I've joined the Spin the Bin 2015 Challenge in the "Completely Twisted and Arbitrary Spinning Group" on Ravelry.  Basically you commit to spinning a minimum of 2oz of fibre a month for the year.  Here is my starting "bin" and the first spin happening which is my "Blue Tango" colourway on Merino/Silk.

Knitting project on the go is the previously mentioned stranded socks.  I've just turned the heel on the second one, so after the hated picking up of stitches, it shouldn't be too long until they are finished.

Should I write up the pattern?  It's pretty simple but it might help someone?
